Hosta Streakin in Alabama OS
Hosta Streakin in Alabama OS
Hosta ‘Streakin in Alabama’ is a highly collectible streaked hosta introduced by Ed Thaubald, selected from a seedling discovered in Huntsville, Alabama. This offering is OS (Originator’s Stock), meaning plants are sourced directly from the originator’s original stock and designated as OS only when verifiable.
The foliage consists of green leaves accented with bold streaks of cream and white, creating dynamic and ever-changing patterns throughout the growing season. Leaves have very good substance, helping them maintain a clean, durable appearance in the garden. The plant forms a substantial clump reaching approximately 18 inches tall and 30 inches wide, giving it strong presence without overwhelming nearby plants.
Lavender flowers are produced on 24-inch leafy scapes, adding seasonal interest above the foliage. ‘Streakin in Alabama’ also produces viable seed pods, making it valuable not only as an ornamental hosta but also as a strong breeder with proven fertility.
An elite streaked hosta combining verified originator stock, excellent substance, breeding potential, and extreme rarity.
