Hosta Sally and Bob OS
Hosta Sally and Bob OS
Hosta ‘Sally and Bob’ is a registered and highly respected large streaked hosta introduced by Clarence Owens in 1994, resulting from the cross of ‘William Lachman’ × ‘Fascination’. This offering is OS (Originator’s Stock), meaning plants are sourced directly from the originator’s original stock and designated as OS only when verifiable.
The large, shiny leaves are green with bold white and yellow streaking and a heavily corrugated texture, giving the plant exceptional movement and visual depth. As a true streaked hosta, pattern expression can vary, adding individuality and collector appeal. Plants form an impressive 18-inch tall by 30-inch wide clump, making ‘Sally and Bob’ a commanding garden presence. In July, tall scapes carry pinkish-white tubular flowers, adding height and seasonal interest.
‘Sally and Bob’ is widely regarded as an elite breeder, producing a remarkable range of seedlings with unique expressions. Its proven fertility and genetic diversity make it valuable both as a landscape specimen and as a parent plant for hybridizers.
