Hosta Mighty Star OS

Hosta ‘Mighty Star’ is a refined miniature hosta introduced in 2024 by Ed Thaubald, offered here as OS (Originator’s Stock). A sport of ‘Mighty Mini,’ this selection was chosen for its compact Mouse Ears form and bright, stable variegation. Its controlled growth habit and consistent presentation make it especially well suited for containers, troughs, and other close-viewing garden settings.

The small, rounded leaves feature a soft yellow center that remains consistent throughout the growing season, cleanly framed by a green margin. Foliage forms a dense, symmetrical mound with good substance and a tidy appearance. Mature plants reach approximately 6 inches tall and 13 inches wide. In early to mid-summer, pale purple flowers rise just above the foliage, providing a subtle seasonal accent. Offered in very limited quantity, this is an elite collector miniature with both ornamental and lineage appeal.
