Hosta ‘Christmas Tree Gala’ is a registered, streaked hosta introduced in 2000 by Loleta Powell as a sport of ‘Christmas Tree.’ This cultivar is best known as an exceptional streaked breeder, valued for its vivid and variable striping rather than long-term landscape stability. Dark green foliage is overlaid with vibrant gold to creamy yellow streaking that varies dramatically from leaf to leaf, ensuring no two plants ever look the same.

This selection is unstable and will naturally attempt to revert to the margined form of ‘Christmas Tree’ unless non-streaked eyes are removed, making it primarily of interest to breeders and advanced collectors. Plants form a dense, gleaming clump with wavy, ovate leaves and good substance. Pale lavender, tubular flowers appear in early summer, followed by light green to pink-streaked pods, confirming its fertility and usefulness in breeding variegated seedlings.
