Hosta ‘Galaxy’ is a registered and highly influential streaked breeder hosta introduced by Bill & Eleanor Lachman in 1987. Bred from (× ‘Beatrice’) × ‘Frances Williams’, this cultivar has earned legendary status among hybridizers for its dramatic streaking, strong substance, and exceptional genetic output.
Large, dark green leaves are irregularly streaked with yellow, cream, and white, producing bold, unpredictable variegation where no two leaves are alike. The foliage has good substance with a slightly wavy, corrugated texture and subtly downturned edges. Mature clumps reach approximately 18 inches tall and 39 inches wide. In early to mid-summer, lavender, lightly striped flowers appear on 24-inch scapes.
