Hosta of the Year for 2015. (Zilis 02)
Hosta ‘Victory’ is a cultivar of hosta known for its large, attractive foliage and striking variegation. The leaves of ‘Victory’ are heart-shaped and have a dark green center with wide, creamy yellow margins. The foliage is thick and slightly corrugated, giving it an interesting texture. The plant typically grows to a height of about 18 inches and a spread of about 24 inches, making it a medium-sized hosta.
‘Victory’ prefers partial shade to full shade and moist, well-drained soil. It is a low-maintenance plant and is fairly tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions. In mid-summer, ‘Victory’ produces tall spikes of lavender flowers that rise above the foliage.
