Stained Glass Qt.
Hosta of the Year for 2006. (H Hansen 99)
Hosta ‘Stained Glass’ is a cultivar of hosta known for its vibrant foliage and attractive variegation. The leaves of ‘Stained Glass’ are a bright, golden yellow color with a deep green margin, creating a striking stained-glass effect. The foliage is slightly corrugated and has a slightly wavy edge, giving it an interesting texture. The plant typically grows to a height of about 18 inches and a spread of about 30 inches, making it a medium-sized hosta.
‘Stained Glass’ prefers partial shade to full shade and moist, well-drained soil. It is a low-maintenance plant and is fairly tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions. In mid-summer, ‘Stained Glass’ produces tall spikes of fragrant lavender flowers that rise above the foliage.
